New "PokeLids" will appear in four new cities and towns!
Did you know that there is a Pokémon that is a "favorite Pokémon" of Hokkaido? They are Alola Rokon, a fox Pokémon that lives in the snowy mountains, and Rokon, another fox Pokémon that was appointed to the "Hokkaido Daisuki Discovery Team" in 2018.

Mikasa City is blessed with rich forests and lakes, and has a favorable environment near major cities in central Hokkaido. Mikasa City is also a historical city that prospered as the birthplace of Hokkaido's coal and railroads. It is also said to be a geologically important area that produces many fossils, including "Ezomikasaryu" and "ammonites. More than 100 million years ago, when Mikasa City was still under the sea, ammonites were swimming and Ezoemikasaryus (large carnivorous reptiles) were coming and going. In 1957, the Katsurazawa Dam was completed and Lake Katsurazawa was born. Ammonite fossils and Ezoemikasaryu fossils were discovered at that time, and the area has attracted attention as an ammonite fossil town. Kamifurano Town is located on the west side of the Tokachi Mountain range in the Daisetsuzan Mountains in the center of Hokkaido, and has a beautiful landscape of magnificent Mt. Since its settlement in 1897, the town has developed mainly through agriculture, and was the first town in Japan to cultivate lavender as an agricultural crop in 1948, making it a town of agriculture and tourism. Kenbuchi Town is located 50 km north of Asahikawa City, a city in central Hokkaido, on National Route 40, and has a population of about 3,000, mainly farming. In 1988, young people in the town formed the "Kenbuchi Picture Book Village Creation Association," and in 2004, the "Picture Book Museum" was newly opened. The museum houses a collection of 40,000 picture books from around the world, which can be borrowed nationwide. In addition to various activities such as exhibitions of original picture books, storytelling, picture book production, and hands-on activities, the museum also holds the "Kenbuchi Picture Book Village Grand Prize," which is voted on by visitors. The creation of Picture Book Village is a heartwarming town where picture books, welfare, and agriculture come together to create a culture, where people can experience the "warmth and kindness" of picture books and nurture a "compassionate and rich heart".
