4-chome Plaza, also known as "4pla," was once beloved by Sapporo residents and a familiar symbol of youth culture. A new commercial facility, "4PLA," will open on its former site in the summer of 2025! The name of the entire building will be "Sapporo 4-chome Place." The first basement floor to the third floor above ground will be developed as the commercial area, "4PLA," while floors four through thirteen will be office space. 4PLA will feature a number of attractive spaces that will become a new symbol of Sapporo, including a food and drink bar, a meeting spot for watching the trams, and an indoor park. We'll introduce all the highlights of 4PLA!

"4PLA" will be located in the Odori area, the heart of Sapporo, at the scramble intersection "4-chome Jujigai" at Minami 1 Nishi 4. This is the location where "4-chome Plaza," a beloved hub of youth culture, once stood for 50 years. "4PLA" has inherited that history and its nickname "4Pla," while evolving for a new era.

The building will be called "Sapporo 4-chome Place." The basement floor to the third floor will be a commercial facility called "4PLA," while floors four through thirteen will be used as office space. Furthermore, the first and third floors will have a "Town Living" shared space that anyone can use, making it a new hub for Sapporo's Odori district, attracting Sapporo residents and tourists alike.

Sapporo 4-chome Place

4PLA will open with three stores on the first floor, followed by the second and third floors on Thursday, August 7, 2025. What's more, the remaining basement floor, "ODORiBA Odori Bar," a bar district where you can also drink during the day, is scheduled to have its grand opening on Thursday, October 9. This time, we'll also be sharing information about the new stores that will be appearing at "ODORiBA Odori Bar."

First, we would like to introduce the three stores on the first floor, which opened early on Friday, April 25, 2025.

Tudor Boutique Sapporo by BOLTE, the first street-level store in the Hokkaido area

Tudor has opened its first street-level store in Hokkaido, "Tudor Boutique Sapporo by BOLTE," as a new base that embodies the brand's philosophy of continuing to pursue the "ultimate practical watch."

Located on a corner lot on the first floor facing Odori Street, the store features an open space that lets in plenty of natural light. In addition to the largest display in Japan, you can fully experience the brand's worldview through exhibits of the TUDOR professional cycling team's racing gear and the "Born To Dare" installation. Enjoy a special encounter with a diverse collection, including boutique-exclusive models.

ODORiBA Odori Bar

"ODORiBA Odori Bar" will be located on the basement floor, and is scheduled to finally open on Thursday, October 9th, 2025. Under the concept of "a bar district where you can drink during the day," eight unique establishments will be gathered together. Characterized by a large space enveloped in green and neon lights, it can be used for a wide range of occasions, from lunch to nighttime drinking. Here we will introduce details about all eight establishments and the "Odoriba seating," which will also have a DJ booth.

Shihachi Fresh Fish Shop 4PLA (Seafood Izakaya)

A fish shop, seafood bowl restaurant, and sushi bar where you can drink from noon. A fish shop where you can drink from lunchtime using local fish. We offer classic seafood bowls and reasonably priced sushi. You can enjoy fresh seasonal fish all year round at local prices. Feel free to enjoy as much fresh fish as you like at a great value!

Inside "ODORiBA Odori Bar," there are plans to have "Odoriba seats" (only available at some stores, with limited menus) where food and drinks from multiple stores can be ordered via mobile. Inside the Odoriba seats there is a DJ booth, where the latest AI system will act as a DJ and select music for the facility. There are also plans to hold events centered around artists active in Sapporo.

4PLA SPOT

The first floor is lined with retail stores that will become the building's signature, as well as a new meeting spot for Odori, "4PLA SPOT." Located right in front of the tram "Nishi 4-chome Station," and adjacent to a cafe stand, it's the perfect place to meet up with someone or take a quick break with a cup of coffee. It will be a convenient and comfortable space for users of the Sapporo tram and subway.

4PLA PARK

The second and third floors are lined with shops where you can enjoy shopping and eating and drinking. The highlight is the indoor park "4PLA PARK" on the third floor. With its expansive greenery and artificial turf, it feels like an urban park that can be enjoyed even in winter. The outer perimeter is an outdoor terrace where you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere of Sapporo city.

Goldwin, a store selling activewear for enjoying nature, has opened Goldwin is a brand that aims to make the moment of becoming one with nature the purest experience. Based on solid technical capabilities and designs that meticulously express the unique aesthetic of "DEDICATION TO DETAIL" that has been passed down since the company's founding, the brand offers a near-full lineup of functional and stylish clothing. Through Goldwin products, the brand proposes an active lifestyle that allows customers to fully enjoy Sapporo's magnificent nature. Store-exclusive products are also planned.

RAGTAG

RAGTAG, a second-hand select shop for designer brands, opens its first store in Hokkaido RAGTAG Sapporo Store, the first store in the Hokkaido area, has opened in the Odori area. The spacious store, measuring approximately 220 square meters, stocks approximately 2,000 used items, mainly from popular domestic and international brands. Enjoy shopping in the open space with a wide range of products, from casual to luxury. The store is equipped with two private rooms for purchasing, and offers a comprehensive purchasing service that respects privacy. Come experience the valuable discoveries that only RAGTAG can offer.

oj Coffee x Tanita Cafe

A collaboration store between Tanita Cafe and Sapporo cafe OJ Coffee opens This takeout-only cafe is based on the theme of "mental health" through fun and comfort. Not only can you enjoy monthly recommended coffees selected by coffee specialty store OJ Coffee, but it also offers a collaborative menu with Tanita Shokudo, specializing in health and beauty with calorie and nutritional value calculations. Enjoy healthy bento lunches for office workers and fun, delicious sweets that are conscious of health, such as calories and carbohydrates.

Free City Bar

A nostalgic yet new bar where the old and the new intersect Jiyuichi Bar is a cross-style establishment that combines the traditions of the 4PLA with a street corner candy store and stand-up bar. It combines candy and miscellaneous goods, craft beer, standing bars, and chance encounters between people. It is a new community crossroads where anyone, from office workers to students, can drop in and chat.

The 4th to 13th floors of Sapporo 4-chome Place are environmentally friendly office spaces. The building uses 100% renewable energy and has been certified as a "zero carbon promotion building." The office space is suitable for the times to come.

"Re-Bear Project" image

Within 4PLA, artworks will be exhibited in sequence, primarily in the shared spaces "Town Living" and "ODORiBA Odori Bar." With the aim of turning 4PLA into a new venue for activity and providing visitors with the enjoyment of visiting 4PLA, artworks will be created in collaboration with a wide range of creators, including locals, startups, and universities.

As part of an effort to create a lively atmosphere on the road surface, the temporary enclosure surrounding 4PLA's new building is currently exhibiting six works by five artists, mostly from Hokkaido, who are intellectually disabled, in collaboration with HERALBONY Co., Ltd. These works will be cleaned and converted into panels, and will continue to be exhibited inside the building after it opens.

The third floor town living room will utilize art data from four artists contracted by the company to create a unique and distinctive space.

Upcycling unused local resources into paint in collaboration with "NULL"

Sapporo is home to streets made from materials unique to the region, such as brick and Sapporo soft stone, and the long-standing fashion building "4-chome Plaza" also had a brick-themed interior. 4PLA is collaborating with "NULL" to turn unused local resources that would normally be discarded, such as brick and Sapporo soft stone offcuts, into paint, which will be used to create planters in the third-floor Machi no Living Room and artwork for the ODORiBA Odori Bar on the first basement floor.

Collaboration with local artists in collaboration with the "Re-Bear Project"

Ie's Co., Ltd., which is promoting the "Re-Bear Project," and local artists selected through a public call for entries will work together to transform the wooden carved bears into artworks and display them as a new home for the bears within the 4PLA building.

It's extremely accessible! It's directly connected to the Odori subway station, and is also right in front of the Nishi 4-Chome tram station. Its location in the center of Sapporo makes it easy to access from anywhere.

"4PLA" and "Sapporo 4-Chome Place" have inherited the history of "4-Chome Plaza" while evolving into the future. They are filled with spaces that will make your everyday life just a little more special, such as an underground bar, an indoor park, and convenient shared spaces. With this early opening as a catalyst, we can't wait for the grand opening in the summer of 2025!
