A Farm Where You Can Interact Directly with Miniature Horses
This adorable foal lives at Ohisama Farm in Hidaka Town, known as one of Japan's leading horse breeding areas and home to the Mombetsu Racecourse. It's a farm where you can interact with the world's smallest horses, "miniature horses," amidst wide grassy fields.
The original poster, Torosuke, loves Ohisama Farm so much that they visit once a week. We asked them about its charm.
Usually, you can only see horses from behind a fence, but at Ohisama Farm, the biggest appeal is that you can directly interact with the miniature horses. Because you can get up close, you start to understand each of their personalities, and it feels like you've become a miniature horse owner yourself.
As you interact with them, you'll find your own 'favorite horse.' Since I visit so often, I think the miniature horses have come to recognize me. They'll approach me from a distance, as if to say, 'Give me a carrot' or 'Scratch my back,' and act affectionately.
Another charm is being able to see the horses' relaxed daily lives—running around, sleeping, or eating. It allows me to have a relaxing time as well. It's truly healing for the soul.
Ohisama Farm is a place where you can experience the daily lives of horses up close. If you ever visit Hidaka Town, be sure to enjoy this precious, hands-on experience that you can only get there.
