NIJISANJI vs. hololive: Report from the "NijiHolo Match" Baseball Showdown at ES CON FIELD!
An Electric Atmosphere Even Before the Game
This event featured a total of six Livers and Talents from the two major VTuber agencies, NIJISANJI and hololive. The gameplay from "Professional Baseball Spirits 2024-2025" was displayed on the massive LED screen inside ES CON FIELD, allowing attendees to enjoy the matches together. It was billed as "an unprecedented, never-before-seen VTuber offline baseball live event."
The doors opened at 11:00 AM. Before the event kicked off, we took a tour of the venue. It felt as if the VTubers had taken over ES CON FIELD, appearing everywhere. The digital signage displayed the players, and life-sized panels of 64 chibi-style characters from the four teams were set up in various locations.

The Nail-Biting Game Begins!
In the "NijiHolo Match," four members—Hoshikawa Sara and Lize Helesta from NIJISANJI, and Amane Kanata and Usada Pekora from hololive—acted as managers, each training their own team of players. The event featured intense battles between the teams they had developed over three in-game years. Sasaki Saku and Shirakami Fubuki served as chairpersons.
The first game was a battle between "Usada Pekora Gakuen," led by Usada Pekora, and "Sei Milky Way Gakuen," managed by Hoshikawa Sara! The realistic gameplay, featuring players named after VTubers, was absolutely thrilling.
Each manager had previously streamed videos of themselves training their teams. For the fans who had followed their progress, this made the games even more meaningful. Just like a real baseball game, the crowd erupted when a player got a hit, and the tension was palpable as they watched every pitch with bated breath.
The in-game stadium was also "ES CON FIELD."
Although it was virtual, holding the event in a real stadium lent an air of authenticity to the matches. Before we knew it, we were also glued to the screen!
Flames erupted on the field when a team scored.
Between games, there was a performance of the famous ES CON FIELD "Kitsune Dance," and during the prize time, Nazo no Mito made an appearance to announce the winners of attendee prizes and signed baseballs.
Pekora Gakuen won the first game 7-3 with a solid batting lineup. Reflecting on the first match, Manager Pekora expressed her joy, saying, "We'll fight with our underdog spirit to win the next one too."
The halftime show was the "MOGRA presents NijiHolo Match Special DJ Time feat. PandaBoY." The venue went wild with a setlist featuring songs from NIJISANJI and hololive. Some people waved their hands like at a real concert, while others danced to the music!
The second game was a battle between "Ouritsu Helesta Jogakuin," managed by Lize Helesta, and "Tenkai Gakuen," led by manager Amane Kanata. It was a high-scoring slugfest from the very beginning, with an unpredictable outcome.
The venue was filled with a mix of cheers and groans, creating an atmosphere just like a real baseball game. In the bottom of the 6th inning, Kyouran Meloco from Ouritsu Helesta Jogakuin hit a come-from-behind grand slam! The final score was 12-7 in favor of Ouritsu Helesta Jogakuin. The dramatic turn of events made it a memorable and classic game for the audience.
At the post-game awards ceremony, Kyouran Meloco (NIJISANJI) and Houshou Marine (hololive) were named MVPs, drawing huge applause from the crowd!
