A video of a horse at a riding club in Hokkaido has gone viral on social media for being absolutely adorable! People can't get enough of his earnest efforts.
Peeking its head out of the stable, the horse tries to eat some green grass, but it's just out of reach. The sight of it desperately stretching its neck and licking the blades of grass has drawn a flood of supportive comments on social media, like "So cute!", "You're almost there!", and "So close!"
Meet Inpa-kun, a retired racehorse living his best life in Sapporo!
The horse in the video is Inpa-kun, a retired racehorse living at the Makomanai Riding Club in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Out of the 22 horses at the club, an impressive 18 are retired racehorses. They are now active in a wide range of roles, from trial riding experiences and beginner lessons to advanced training for those aiming to compete in major equestrian events.
So, did he ever get the grass?
So, was Inpa-kun finally able to eat the grass? We spoke with Mr. Nakagaki from the Makomanai Riding Club, who told us, "The grass had been nibbled, so I think he managed to eat it safely!" Furthermore, Inpa-kun is scheduled to compete in an equestrian competition at Northern Horse Park in Tomakomai City in June 2025. "I'm sure he'll use the energy from that grass to do his best," Mr. Nakagaki added.
