What a truly magical shot, with the beautiful Mount Komagatake lit by the morning sun, and the sky and clouds embracing it, all reflected on the water's surface!
Mount Komagatake spans three towns—Nanae, Mori, and Shikabe—and is an active volcano with entry restrictions currently in place based on its volcanic activity.
The hiking trails of Hokkaido Komagatake are said to be covered in volcanic gravel and rocks, typical of a volcano, and are also quite steep. It's one of the mountains I'd love to climb, while keeping in mind the necessary precautions for an eruption!
Wakkanai City's Snow Plow
During winter, the Russell snowplow comes out to clear the snow, ensuring smooth railway operations.
The Russell plow on the Soya Line is called the "Soya Russell" and battles the snow until spring.

A great shot of a 'working vehicle' in action, with its striking red body and pointed front!
The Russell plow bravely plows forward, clearing snow so that the Soya Line can transport many people. Apparently, it runs 'every day' on the Soya Main Line from mid-December to mid-March!
Why not go and see its powerful presence for yourself?

A magical shot of illuminations beautifully coloring the city as the snow falls silently and steadily!
The "Asahikawa Machi Akari" for this fiscal year is being held from November 28, 2020, to March 7, 2021. Multiple venues are lighting up the city with their own unique character.
It feels as if the lights illuminating the city give us a reason to look up.
