"I Could Watch This Forever": Adorable Mountain Hare Munching on Haskap Berries is a Farm's "Cutest Employee" in Hokkaido!
At a haskap farm in Biei, Hokkaido, a wild Ezo Yuki Usagi (mountain hare) is making waves as the "cutest employee" ever! Its focused munching on haskap berries has captured hearts on social media.
This year again, the wild rabbits are here to eat the blueberries. Hokkaido has been abnormally hot this year, and there are many hornets, so to prevent the fruit from being left on the ground, they are eating and cleaning up the lower blueberries that we don't sell. Thank you. For our farm, which is short on labor, the presence of these small, cute employees is a great help every year.

The video shows an Ezo Yuki Usagi completely absorbed in munching on haskap berries. In fact, if fallen blueberries are left on the ground, they can attract hornets. So, this rabbit is helping out as the "cutest employee" by eating the fallen blueberries, thus protecting the farm.
This heartwarming scene has garnered over 140,000 likes on X, with comments like, "They've come for their seasonal job," "What an ideal symbiotic relationship," and "Such a wonderful employee."
New Life, Too?! The Ezo Yuki Usagi That Frequently Visit the Farm
These adorable Ezo Yuki Usagi visit the "Biei Haskap Farm" in Biei, Hokkaido. The farm primarily cultivates and sells haskap and blueberries, and the rabbits roam freely around the property.
It seems a new "rookie" was spotted in 2025, making the farm even more lively.
A baby Ezo Yuki Usagi. This is a different one from the one we saw in May. New lives are born one after another, connecting to the next generation. Thank you for being born.
