In recent years, while interest in moving from urban areas to various regions has grown, there are cases where people struggle with the gap between their expectations before moving and the "reality" after. Some even end up leaving their new homes without anyone to turn to for advice.

The online relocation consultation event "Hokkaido Ijū no Susume" (Recommendations for Moving to Hokkaido), to be held on Sunday, March 28, 2021, is planned and initiated entirely by people who have actually moved to Hokkaido. Drawn by the charms of various regions in Hokkaido, they know not only the good aspects but also the "realities" of relocating.

Mr. Tomohiko Kato of Marumegane LLC, who is supporting the planning and operation of this event, moved from Tokyo to Kimobetsu Town in August 2017. He has also been featured on Domingo as a local player in Kimobetsu Town.

Mr. Kato explains the purpose of this project as follows:

All the planning and operation members of this event are people who have relocated themselves. And the relocation coordinators from each participating municipality are 'relocation consultation professionals' who handle a total of over 1,200 consultations annually. We wanted to create a relocation event that could only be made possible by people who deal with relocation on the front lines every day.

Moving is a very big decision. That's why we believe a system that can provide close support from the consideration phase to the final settlement is necessary. We hope this event will deepen the collaboration among relocation coordinators from various areas, and that we can become the 'go-to contact point for relocation' for anyone who thinks, 'I want to try living in Hokkaido.'

Sixteen municipalities from all over Hokkaido will participate in this consultation event, with various content being planned.

Atsuma Town, Kamikawa Town, Kimobetsu Town, Kuriyama Town, Shimokawa Town, Shinhidaka Town, Date City, Nakagawa Town, Nakashibetsu Town, Niseko Town, Biei Town, Fukagawa City, Mikasa City, Memuro Town, Yakumo Town, Rishirifuji Town
Organizers: Kimobetsu Town, Shimokawa Town, Date City

【Individual Consultation Booths】
Online individual consultation booths for each municipality will be available. You can make a reservation in advance for a smooth consultation.
*Some municipalities also offer consultations on days other than the event day.

【General Relocation Consultation Desk】
For those who haven't decided on a specific destination, a general consultation desk will be available for preliminary advice. We will help you organize your thoughts about life after moving and support you in concretely considering potential destinations.

【Relocation Coordinators' Cross-Talk】
Participating relocation coordinators will hold a pre-recorded round-table discussion on several themes related to Hokkaido and relocation. This will allow you to get a better idea of the characteristics of each town before your consultation.

If you are considering moving to Hokkaido, why not join this event?
