The Makomanai Fireworks Festival, a beloved summer tradition in Sapporo, is back for its 14th year. A staggering 22,000 fireworks, the largest display in Sapporo, will light up the night sky in perfect sync with music, lighting, and even fire effects. This dynamic and unique art of light is a spectacle that can only be seen here, sure to overwhelm all who attend.

A variety of entertainment will be featured in the opening show before the fireworks even begin, filling the venue with a festive atmosphere early on. Another major draw is the large number of popular food stalls. The menu is extensive, ranging from Hokkaido's bounties like juicy Shiraoi beef, horumon (offal), and fresh grilled scallops, to long churros and curry dogs.

The "Exhibition of Fear," which became a hot topic on social media during its runs in Tokyo and Osaka, is finally opening in Sapporo. This cutting-edge, immersive entertainment is a collaboration between up-and-coming horror writer Nashi, Yami Inc., and producer Tokio Omori, who is behind several hit TV Tokyo programs.

The exhibition focuses on the physiological anxieties and fears people experience in daily life, such as those related to "heights," "confined spaces," and "gazes." Through each exhibit, you'll experience a strange sense of immersion as you confront your own unrecognized fears. It's a perfect way for horror fans and everyone else to experience a special, bone-chilling time to cool down at the start of a hot summer.

EVENT 3 Cheers in the Open Air of Early Summer! Enjoy Music and Delicious Food at the "JIM BEAM SUMMER FES 2026"

This festival takes place in a spacious outdoor setting in central Sapporo. Popular food trucks will be serving Jim Beam and a selection of gourmet venison, limited-edition tacos, and fried chicken that pair perfectly with it. Plus, there will be plenty of fun, including exciting live performances by fantastic artists and a prize lottery. It's the perfect spot to enjoy music, great food, and a toast after work or while out shopping.
