On Friday, July 25, 2025, Sapporo will host the Doushin UHB Fireworks Festival, a summer tradition. In the past, there have been many fireworks festivals launched on the Toyohira River in Sapporo, but since 2010, the Doushin UHB Fireworks Festival has been the only one. This year, the festival will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, with launch times scheduled for 7:40 PM to 8:30 PM. Approximately 4,000 fireworks will light up the Sapporo night sky. In the event of bad weather, the festival will be postponed to Wednesday, July 30.

Just like last year, the 2025 event will be divided into three parts: "Summer Night Carnival," "Dreaming Night," and "Grand Finale." Each will feature fireworks with a different theme, captivating the audience. The Grand Finale in particular will be a spectacular sight, with fireworks launched all at once.

The main viewing spot is the Toyohira River riverbed from Toyohira Bridge to Minami 19-jo Bridge. The Odori side of the riverbed from Nakajima Koen Station on the Subway Namboku Line and Horohira Bridge, which are close to the launch site, is popular and usually gets crowded. Conversely, the Toyohira Ward side between Minami Ohashi Bridge and Horohira Bridge is usually less crowded than the Odori side.

We'll also introduce some viewing spots where you can watch the fireworks from afar! You can enjoy the fireworks along with the Sapporo night view from high-rise towers such as the Sapporo TV Tower and JR Tower. The area around Munich Bridge and the Naebo area are a little far away, but they are some of the best hidden spots for watching the fireworks. Incidentally, Aeon Mall Sapporo Naebo, located in the Naebo area, will also be holding an event where they will open up their rooftop for viewing the fireworks.

There is no parking available, so please use public transportation. Also, as congestion is expected at Nakajima Koen Station and Horohirabashi Station on the Namboku Line, there will be a "controlled entry" system in place to detour from a certain time, making it impossible to travel directly from the station to the riverbed. If you are using the subway, please consider using Hosui-Susukino Station or Gakuenmae Station on the Toho Line, or Nakanojima Station on the Namboku Line, although they are a little further away.

The restrictions will run from around 6:00 PM to around 10:30 PM, with Toyohira Bridge, Minami 19-jo Bridge, Kikusui Asahiyama Park Street, Minami 7-jo Bridge, and other bridges closed to traffic.
