About 30 minutes by car from JR Sapporo Station, Chateraise Gateau Kingdom Sapporo, located on the outskirts of Sapporo, is a resort hotel with a Chateraise confectionery factory attached. The lunch buffet held on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays at Restaurant Vigne is extremely popular here. At a reasonable price of 2,900 yen, the restaurant offers a varied menu of Japanese, Western, Chinese, and sweet dishes, each with a unique theme. At the time of this visit, the Halloween Lunch Buffet (until October 26, 2025) was being held.

This special Halloween buffet has some amazing visual impacts, including a pumpkin salad decorated with ghosts and a surprising piece of seared tuna with a zombie face (with rice underneath). Of course, the hotel chefs are also particular about the taste, and the delicate and gentle dishes they create are not too strong in flavor, making them enjoyable and bringing out the natural flavors of the ingredients, so you will never tire of eating them.

"German-style Potato and Zombie Fingers" is made by cutting sausages into decorative shapes to resemble fingers.

The demonstration corner, where the chef prepares the food on the spot, showcases the professional techniques of the chef to create an omelet! You can choose from seven toppings, including cheese, bacon, cod roe, and green onions, and the Halloween menu includes two sauces: tomato sauce and squid ink sauce. One of the highlights is the chef's performance, as he quickly frys the eggs in a frying pan and transfers them to a plate. Be sure to savor the freshly made omelet, which is made in no time right before your eyes.

It's cooked in a short time, so it's fluffy and the inside is soft and creamy, making it a delicious omelet.

Another nice thing about this lunch buffet is that it offers nigiri sushi, which is quite rare for a lunch buffet in the 2,000 yen range. The toppings for the day were lean tuna and whelk. Other Japanese dishes include Atka mackerel soup and udon noodles that you can add your own toppings like green onions. There is also a wide variety of Western and Chinese dishes on offer.
