A wild animal has appeared on a road in Hokkaido at night. Its carefree behavior, completely unconcerned about danger, has attracted attention on social media.

This is a raccoon that was almost hit by a car, but is worried about its own shadow and looks in the direction of it.

Quoted from @nippou_'s post

It was a wild raccoon that suddenly appeared from the bushes. Five raccoons suddenly appeared, but the driver sensed their presence and slammed on the brakes, which allowed them to escape unharmed. As the raccoons remained motionless, comments such as "I'm glad they're safe," "It's not your own shadow you should be worried about..." and "Loveable raccoons, be careful of cars" were posted on social media, and the post received over 30,000 likes.

"I'm worried because there's not enough sense of danger..."

We spoke to the poster himself about what happened to the raccoon afterwards.

After watching the shadow for a while, it trudged off into the bushes. It seemed like it hadn't been paying enough attention to the danger, and I'm worried about the raccoon's future. From now on, when I drive at night, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for movement in the bushes and raccoons jumping out.

It's common for wild animals to appear on roads in Hokkaido, but it can be a real problem when raccoons, which live at their own pace, appear on the road. When driving in Hokkaido, be sure to be careful of wild animals jumping out into the street.

The post was made by a farmer in Hokkaido.

This is a photo of the apples that the poster, Nippo-san, grows in Hokkaido. They look delicious!

The photo was posted by Nippo, a farmer in Hokkaido. He commented, "This year's apples are bigger and tastier than usual!" Please be careful when driving in the fall, and enjoy autumn in Hokkaido to the fullest.
