Send Your Spring Feelings in a Letter: Cranes and a Postbox (Shibecha) & More [Hokkaido Mirai Note (52)]

Welcome to Hokkaido Mirai Note, a project that collects photos of Hokkaido's scenery to be preserved for the future.
From the wonderful Hokkaido scenes photographed and submitted by all of you, we've carefully selected and will introduce three posts again this time!

Crane and Postbox (Shibecha Town)

This is Kayanuma Station, the only station in Japan visited by red-crowned cranes. On this day, with spring in the air, I encountered a scene that looked as if a crane, having written a love letter, had come toddling along to post it.

A heartwarming shot that captures the perfect moment of a red-crowned crane!
Located in the Kushiro Wetland, Kayanuma Station is actually the only unmanned station in Japan that "coexists with red-crowned cranes."
If you're lucky, you might even see a crane from the train window! I'd love to see a two-shot of a train and a crane!

Factory Night View (Tomakomai City)

The Idemitsu Refinery in Tomakomai City.
While shooting locations are limited, the cluster of plants shining in pale blue is breathtaking.

A very cool shot capturing the factory working in the quiet of the night, adorned in various colors!
The Hokkaido Refinery, located in Tomakomai City, is the northernmost refinery in Japan. It began operations in 1973 as a base to supply energy to Hokkaido, Tohoku, and Hokuriku. How about a factory night view tour?

Woman in the Snow (Asahikawa City)

It's a very quiet shrine, though visible from the main road.
I had my friend, dressed in a kimono to match the red torii gate, model for me.

A note from the Domingo Editorial Team
A truly beautiful shot where the red of the kimono and torii gate stands out against the pure white world!
The vast snowy landscape, the snow on the lanterns, and the leafless trees all perfectly accentuate the main subject, drawing you into its world.
It makes me want to search for such wonderful scenes hidden in my own area!
