If you're not sure what to buy as a souvenir from Tokachi, try the bean products from "Okamedo" that you'll never be able to stop reaching for!
When I entered the store, I was surprised again! There were so many products lined up that it was hard to choose, and they were all beans, beans, and more beans. Looking at each product, I realized, "There are so many types of beans!"

Founded in the Edo period, Okamedo was originally a Kobe company. In 1988, the company built a factory in Honbetsu-cho, where the company had a connection with the town for raw material procurement, and this led to the relocation of Okamedo's factories one by one to Honbetsu-cho, until all factories were concentrated there by the time the Heisei era began. Currently, Mameya Tokachi has taken over the business and continues to produce high-quality bean products. By the way, there is also a building called the Mame Dome on the premises, where you will be greeted by a collection of over 150 Okame dolls.
Okamedo, which has a unique collection of Okame dolls and where you can purchase souvenirs, has become a bit of a tourist spot. Needless to say, beans have long been an essential healthy food in Japanese food culture. If you visit Okamedo, you may find yourself falling in love with the charm of beans all over again.
