A red-crowned crane soaring on the snow. Crane (Tsurui Village), etc. [Hokkaido Mirai Notebook (54)
Here are three of the best photos of Hokkaido's beautiful scenery taken and submitted by our readers!
Crane (Tsurui Village)
I ran to East Hokkaido to photograph Tantou cranes, which was my goal!
Just in time for the feeding time, many tancho cranes landed and I was able to capture a very nice one!
I had a wonderful time watching them!

This is a very nice photograph that shows the trust that the local people have built up over the years with the red-crowned cranes!
The red-crowned cranes, which fly in from late October to March, are more than 2 meters long when they spread their wings.
I would like to see them dance, making sure not to startle them and not to drop food or other items so that they can maintain a good habitat!
Yawning Ezo owls (Sapporo)
Ezo owl yawning loudly, perhaps because the morning sun felt so good.
It was a moment of healing.

This photograph captures the cute appearance of an owl with its mouth wide open in the sunlight!
The heart-shaped face, one of the Ezo owls' charms, is actually an antenna that allows them to hear even the smallest of sounds!
The owl is said to be mostly inactive during the daytime, and we would love to see it resting peacefully in the forest!
Arcade Street (Otaru City)
We took a walk in the arcade district of Otaru. It was fun to see some old-fashioned stores and a very retro atmosphere!

This is a shot of the arcade that stands firm, encompassing the history of the area!
The arcade of Otaru Sun Mall Ichibangai, built in 1990, is equipped with a retractable system to protect it from rain and snow.
Shopping streets are filled with old-fashioned stores and nice signs, and there are many ways to enjoy them!
