The summer scenes of eating yakisoba and yakitori, fishing for yo-yos and playing with cookie cutters, and joining in the circle while listening to the Bon Odori song "Shanko Shanko"... are no longer a thing. So, following on from last year, Domingo will be holding the "2nd Hokkaido Anywhere Bon Odori with Domingo" from Saturday, August 14th to Sunday, August 29th as a new type of Bon Odori in the COVID-19 era, where you can enjoy the "Shanko Shanko" tune no matter where you are! "Hokkaido Anywhere Bon Odori with Domingo" is an online Bon Odori dance that allows participants to dance at the same time, anytime, anywhere, even with people far away, by streaming and sharing Bon Odori music and videos to each participant's smartphone at the same time. No matter when, where or how you join, the music and videos will play at the same time as the other participants. This is a special version created by Crypton Future Media for "Dokobon," using the singing voice synthesis software "Hatsune Miku." The video comes with the company's Hokkaido-supporting mascots, "Rabbit Yukine" and "Snow Miku," dancing to the music, so even those who don't know the choreography can feel free to join in! This initiative also doubled as a demonstration experiment of a large-scale music synchronization control technology called "Songle Sync," developed by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. Songle Sync technology makes it possible for all participants to share music and videos at the same time and enjoy the same Bon Odori dance, regardless of when, where, or how they join.
