A Scene from a Fishing Port Morning: "Drying Octopus" in Ishikari City & More [Hokkaido Mirai Note (61)]

“Hokkaido Mirai Note” is a project that collects scenes of Hokkaido you'll want to preserve for the future.
From the wonderful photos of Hokkaido taken and submitted by everyone, we're introducing three carefully selected posts again this time!

Drying Octopus (Ishikari City)

The annual Ishikari Bay New Port Morning Market, where you can find the freshest seasonal catch.

A sight of octopuses you can only see at a fishing port's morning market 🐙
The Ishikari Bay New Port Morning Market is held from spring to summer, and the products available change with the fishing season. The appeal is that you can discover seasonal flavors every time you visit!
We'd love to taste the fresh-caught flavors.

A Lone Bird in the Sunset (Abashiri City)

The city I live in and its surroundings have the sea, rivers, lakes, and mountains. What seems like an ordinary landscape to a local shows various faces depending on the time and season.

This is a moment of rediscovering the charm of one's own town in the midst of everyday life!
Abashiri City has lakes that are important stopover points for migratory birds like the whooper swan, and many wild birds can be observed there.
A wonderful shot made possible by the rich nature and environment!

Blue Sky and "Himawari no Sato" (Hokuryu Town)

I visited Himawari no Sato (Sunflower Village) for the first time in 20 years. The scenery is as uplifting now as it was then. They all look the same, but if you look closely, you can discover the individuality of each sunflower, as they face different directions or are of different heights.

A note from the Domingo editorial team
Sunflowers are one of the classic symbols of summer. This photo captures a memory of Hokkaido's short summer!
Sunflowers are said to bloom facing the sun, but it sounds fun to look for ones facing a different direction, like a spot-the-difference puzzle 🌻
It would be nice to search for a sunflower that blooms just the way you like.
