Ishikari City is a city with a population of approximately 60,000, located adjacent to the north of Sapporo. It covers a vast area stretching approximately 70 kilometers from north to south and boasts excellent accessibility, with the city hall being about a 30-minute drive from Sapporo Station. It has rapidly developed into a highly convenient city, with residential areas expanding as a bedroom community for the major metropolis, driven by the construction of the Ishikari Bay New Port and the development of industrial parks. On the other hand, it also possesses a wealth of nature close at hand, including the Sea of Japan, the first-class Ishikari River, and a quasi-national park.

The climate is relatively mild for Hokkaido and is rich in seasonal variations. Summers are pleasant with no rainy season and low humidity, and as winter temperatures seldom drop below minus ten degrees Celsius, the annual temperature range is not particularly extreme. Although there is around 120 centimeters of snowfall in winter, a major feature of the city is its well-established snow removal system, which allows for a comfortable and secure lifestyle even during the snowy season.

It is also famous as the birthplace of "Ishikari Nabe," a representative local dish of Hokkaido, and is blessed with an abundance of culinary delights, including fresh seafood, safe and reliable rice, vegetables, and fruits. A variety of events are also held, such as the port's morning market, the "RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL," and the three major autumn festivals, making it a town that harmonizes urban convenience with rich nature and a tangible vibrancy.
