Hamanasu no Oka Park & Visitor Center

Hamanasu no Oka Park stretches over a 1,500 meter long narrow sand dune formed at the intersection of the Sea of Japan and the Ishikari River.
The 46-hectare park is home to 180 species of beach plants, 16.5 hectares of which are designated as the Ishikari City Marine Plant Protection Area.
Although the season when the Hamanasu (Japanese rose) is in full bloom is from early June to early July, many other flowers can be seen from spring to fall, including Isosumire, Hama-hatazao, Hama-endo, Ezo-skunk lily, Hama-hirugao, and Ezo Kawarana-deshiko.
Forget the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a "flower walk" while feeling the sea breezes and pleasant breezes of Ishikari Beach.

At the Visitor Center, souvenirs and other items such as Ishikari's specialties and Hamanasu-related products are available for purchase. Hamanasu soft-serve ice cream (300 yen) is an original product with a slight pink color and a fragrance unique to the rose family. The terrace on the second floor overlooks Ishikari Bay and the Ishikari River.
