Fantastical Views of Hokkaido: Boat Lights on the Harbor, City Glow Through Clouds in Hokuto, and More! [Hokkaido Mirai Note (65)]
From the wonderful photos of Hokkaido taken and submitted by everyone, we are introducing three carefully selected posts again this time!
City Lights Seen Through a Break in the Clouds (Hokuto City)
Amidst a light rain, a sea of clouds spread out, and through a break in the clouds, the light of fishing boats shone.
It was a truly fantastical summer scene.

A shot that captures a scene unique to a port town!
"Isaribi" are the fires lit on fishing boats to attract fish.
In Hokuto City, they catch a wide variety of seafood like salmon, sardines, flounder, halibut, and Atka mackerel 🎣
Hokuto City is full of charm, with its beautiful scenery and delicious food!
THE ROYAL EXPRESS Seen from Sarurun Observatory (Shibecha Town)
On a hot summer day.
My son and I waved at the colorful luxury train from this Sarurun Observatory, which overlooks the wetlands.
I imagine the view from the train window is different from the view from the observatory, and we dream of one day seeing it from the train.

THE ROYAL EXPRESS Hokkaido Cruise Train just started last year, and this is its second year of operation.
What's more, it only runs for a limited time from August to September! This is a perfectly timed shot capturing that moment 🚊
It's a 4-day, 3-night journey departing from Sapporo and traveling through Obihiro/Tokachi, Kushiro/Shiretoko, Okhotsk/Kitami, and Asahikawa/Biei/Furano.
I'd love to ride it someday if I get the chance!
The 'White Road' of the Soya Hills (Wakkanai City)
The White Road in the Soya Hills, made from scallop shells.
The view from this place, which I visited for the first time, was exhilarating.

I thought it was white sand, but it's a road made by crushing and laying down scallop shells 🛣
This is a classic Hokkaido-esque photo where you can feel the greenery of the hills and the sea at the same time!
Driving along the approximately 3km shell road is nice, but taking a slow walk would be great too.
I'd love to visit on a sunny day when the summer greenery is widespread!
