12. Shimukappu Chuo National Ski Area (Shimukappu Village)
This ski area is visible from National Route 237 in Shimukappu Village. It features two rare rope tows with plastic waist supports attached to the wire, and the best part is they are free to use. The course has a maximum gradient of 25 degrees and a longest run of about 1,000 meters. Snowboarding is also permitted, and night skiing facilities are available.
