Overview

Lake Shikaribetsu Kotan is a mystical village that appears on a frozen lake. Kotan means "village" in Ainu language, and all of the buildings in the kotan are made from the ice and snow of Lake Shikaribetsu, which has a high level of transparency. There are many experiences that can only be found here, such as the "Ice Bar" where you can enjoy drinks in glasses made from ice, and the "Open-air Ice Bath", where even the changing rooms are made from snow and ice. Some couples even hold real wedding ceremonies in the romantic ice chapel.
