At the Sapporo Ekimae-dori Underground Walking Space (Chikaho), panels of Hokkaido Heritage sites and selected works from the Hokkaido Heritage Photo & Tanka Challenge 2024 will be displayed, and local leaders will gather to sell goods and distribute novelties.

A "Tanka Challenge" corner will be set up at the venue for visitors to compose tanka poems on the theme of Hokkaido Heritage and paste them on the panels. Anyone can participate in the event, so please paste your tanka poems freely on the panels to the rhythm of "5, 7, 5, 7, 7"!

At the stage event, there will be a talk session by Ms. Wataru Yamada, a tanka poet who served as a judge for the Tanka Challenge, Ms. Aya Tanaka, Director of Ayako Miura Memorial Literature Museum, and Ms. Megumi Koya, Director of Hokkaido Heritage Council. Critiques of the Tanka Division and some of the works composed in the "Tanka Challenge" will also be introduced. There will also be PR time for exhibiting groups to introduce their heritage sites and town attractions, so please come to the venue!
