The Noboribetsu Onsen Hot Spring Festival is a festival that represents Noboribetsu, where people give thanks for the hot springs and pray for good fortune and good health. The hot spring demons, messengers of King Enma, go out into the hot spring town and neighboring areas to collect guests' bad luck and take it home, and at Sengen Park, local folk performing arts such as the "Yukijin Kagura" and "Kodakara Mochitsuki Dance" are performed. The second day marks the finale, with young people in loincloths fighting on horseback while pouring hot water over each other on a bitterly cold night, and the hot spring town is filled with excitement in the middle of winter!
