・Set fee: Adults 2,200 yen / Elementary school students 1,750 yen (fishing fee, rental rod, tackle, bait, hole drilling fee, rental chair)
・Tempura set: 1,000 yen (pot, oil, tempura flour, chopsticks, plate, electromagnetic stove) *Applications accepted until 2:45 p.m.

Rentals OK! Enjoy smelt fishing at Lake Abashiri without bringing anything with you. You can easily enjoy smelt fishing at Lake Abashiri, which boasts the largest smelt catch in Hokkaido, without bringing anything with you. There are rental sets that include all the fishing equipment (fishing fee), so as long as you are fully prepared for the cold, you can start fishing right away. Lake Abashiri is a brackish lake that is connected to the Sea of Okhotsk through the Abashiri River. Smelt that go down to the sea swim upstream, so you can catch smelt over 10 cm in size.
You can also rent a tempura set, which allows you to fry the freshly caught smelt in tempura.
