RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL (hereinafter referred to as RSR) was first held in 1999 as Japan's first full-scale all-night outdoor rock festival.

What if we could experience rock and music to our heart's content on a vast site surrounded by lush nature? RSR was started with this ideal in mind, and while we were still feeling our way around, we are now celebrating our 25th anniversary.

The festival starts with clearing the grass on the vast, empty land of Ishikari. The venue is built by connecting electricity, running water, assembling materials, and setting up the stage, making it seem like a town that appears for only two days out of the 365 days of the year.
