2026 Sapporo Snow Festival (76th)
Date and Time
2026/2/4~11
The Sapporo Snow Festival began in 1950 when local junior and senior high school students displayed six snow sculptures in Odori Park. Today, it is a major winter event in Sapporo, attracting over two million visitors from Japan and abroad. At the Odori site, snow and ice sculptures of all sizes are lined up along a stretch of about one kilometer from 1-chome to 11-chome. They are also lit up from sunset to 10 p.m.
Teams from countries and regions around the world will be participating in the International Snow Sculpture Competition on 11th Street, and you can see the production process during the event. At the Tsudome site, there will be a giant slide and indoor and outdoor events where you can interact with snow, while at the Susukino site, there will be an ice sculpture competition and illuminated ice sculptures. Each site has its own unique atmosphere, so you can enjoy the winter events to the fullest by visiting each one.
