2026 Sapporo Snow Festival (76th)
Date and Time
2026/2/4~11
The Sapporo Snow Festival, which began in 1950 when local junior and senior high school students displayed six snow sculptures in Odori Park, has now become a major winter event in Sapporo, attracting over 2 million visitors from Japan and abroad. At the Odori site, snow and ice sculptures of all sizes are lined up along a stretch of about 1 kilometer from 1-chome to 11-chome, and are lit up from sunset until 10 p.m.
Additionally, teams from countries and regions around the world will be participating in the International Snow Sculpture Competition on 11th Street, and you can even see the production process during the event. At the Tsudome site, there will be indoor and outdoor events where you can experience giant slides and interact with snow, while the Susukino site will also feature an ice sculpture competition and illuminated ice sculptures. Each site has its own unique atmosphere, so you can visit each one and enjoy the winter events to the fullest.
