To celebrate the birth of the Northern Rockhopper Penguins, born on Sunday, June 1st and Wednesday, June 4th this year, the event "Happy Happy Penguin 2025" will be held from Saturday, July 5th, where visitors can watch the chicks grow together. All visitors will receive an original card with a nearly life-size image of the feet of the penguin chicks, and there will be an exhibition introducing the growth of penguins through videos and original penguin-related goods for sale. Please join us in watching the growth of the Northern Rockhopper Penguin chicks, the first to be born at AOAO SAPPORO.

The newly born "Northern Rockhopper Penguin" is a chick born between a male "Nanae" and a female "Otaru", and eggs were confirmed to have been laid on Saturday, April 26th and Thursday, May 1st, 2025. The first egg hatched on June 1st with a birth weight of 71g, and the second egg hatched on June 4th with a birth weight of 82g. They are currently growing well in the back yard.

The penguin is scheduled to be open to the public at the Penguin Lab on the 6th floor from Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Until then, updates on its growth will be posted on AOAO SAPPORO's official social media accounts.
