Overview
This event features the "Indian Waterwheel," a seasonal sight on the Chitose River that is only set up during the autumn season, as well as food such as salmon hotpot and kura bento lunches. The Chitose River, which flows out of Lake Shikotsu, boasts some of the best water quality in Japan, is the birthplace of Hokkaido's salmon breeding project, and every autumn, many salmon swim up the river.
In addition to the salmon hotpot, there will also be a log-cutting race and a fishing pond (yamame trout) in the babbling waterway, so you can fully enjoy autumn in Chitose. You can also enjoy stage events such as the Chitose Armored Taiko, performances by the Ground Self-Defense Force's First Artillery Band, traditional Ainu dance, and band performances.
