Overview

This will be the first exhibition of sculptor Hattori Kohei's work in Hokkaido.
The wood is carved out and the surface is painted with over 100 layers of acrylic paint.
The layered colors are then carved out to create new shapes - this work is made using the unique technique of "color sculpture."

The overlapping colors create a complex expression, while the design is full of humor.
Please enjoy the vivid and deep world of love.

The exhibition will also feature a workshop, where you can enjoy the valuable experience of creating your own "wood jewel."

Sculptor Kohei Hattori

Born in Musashino, Tokyo in 1978
2007 Graduated from Musashino Art University Graduate School, Department of Fine Arts, Sculpture Course
The studio is located in Ome City, Tokyo.

Using wood such as camphor wood as a material, I create works every day by carving, assembling, and painting the wood.

"Let's make a wood jewel"

You will create a "wood jewel" by painting a piece of wood, shaping it with a file, and polishing it to create a beautiful shine. Once completed, it will be made into a brooch, magnet, or objet d'art and given to you.

Participation fee: ¥4,400
Production time: Approximately 60 to 90 minutes
