In winter, the moat of Goryokaku Park is illuminated with approximately 2,000 light bulbs, creating a beautiful star-shaped formation. In addition to enjoying the view while strolling around the park's circular path, we also recommend looking down at it from the Goryokaku Tower Observation Deck. The Goryokaku Ruins, a special historic site that has been the setting for many historical events, is characterized by its star-shaped moat. During the winter, the moat is surrounded by illuminations, creating a fantastical glow in the "Goryokaku Star Dream" event.
