Overview

Illuminations add a romantic touch to the cold season. Otaru Canal is illuminated in blue for three months, from November to January. We especially recommend the blue hour after sunset, when the blue of the illuminations combines with the blue of the sky, creating a magical experience. The "Night Cruise" canal cruise, which operates on a boat decorated with blue illuminations to match the "Blue Canal," is also very popular.
