The Hiyama Subprefectural Bureau has been holding the annual "Hiyama Disability Week" since fiscal 2013, with the aim of promoting social participation and independence for people with disabilities, as well as raising awareness of disability welfare. In 2025, the event will be held at the Hiyama Subprefectural Bureau, Esashi Town Hall, Kaminokuni Town Hall, and Assabe Town Hall from November 10th (Monday) to November 14th (Friday), with the co-hosting and support of the seven towns in the Hiyama region. During this period, eight businesses will be selling handicrafts, sweet breads, and other items at their respective locations, and a "Panel Exhibition to Promote Awareness of Developmental Disabilities (all days, at each location)" and "Individual Consultations for People with Disabilities on Employment (14th, Esashi Town)" will also be held simultaneously.
