Hokkaido-based artist Michimata Sosai (born 2000) has used an allegorical style of painting in which he places multiple figures on staircases to express the conflicts felt in interacting with society and the discomfort felt in everyday life. This exhibition will feature woodblock prints, including new works, based on the theme of "relief," that focus on the sense of security that comes from belonging to a community and the anxieties of remaining within it.
