Special screening of "Christmas Eve in Miller's Point"

We will be holding a special Sapporo screening of "Christmas Eve in Mirror's Point," which will be released nationwide starting November 21st at Bunkamura Le Cinema!

Christmas Eve in Miller's Point, the latest film by director Tyler Taormina, a key figure in the Los Angeles-based new generation filmmaking collective Omnes Films, is a Christmas film that departs from traditional narrative structures and is shot with a unique visual sensibility.
The film depicts fragmented episodes woven together by characters from multiple generations and walks of life through poetic visual expression, and achieved the remarkable feat of having its world premiere at the Directors' Fortnight of the Cannes Film Festival.

The film is distributed by Gucci's Free School, which captivates film fans with its wide-ranging activities, including independent distribution, screening projects, and book publishing, as well as its keen aesthetic sense!
Kinomad has previously screened "Another Music" and "Support the Girls."

Don't miss this opportunity to see "Christmas Eve in Miller's Point."

[Introduction]
On Christmas Eve, four generations of the Varsano family gather at a home in a small town on Long Island. It's their annual get-together, but this year may be their last. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and the family's centerpiece, grandmother, share cheerful conversations and drinks. While everyone is engrossed in the festive festivities, young Emily and Michelle sneak away and turn the snowy suburban landscape into a stage for their own rebellion.

What is "Gucci's Free School"?
Hosted by Furuya Satoshi.
Her diverse activities include independent film distribution and screening planning ("Fascinatingly Obsessed with Paul Thomas Anderson! A Selection of His Early Masterpieces," etc.), and publishing books ("US Movie Hot Sandwich: A Guide to American Films of the 2010s," "Women's Movie Breakfast: A Guidebook for Women to Go to the Movies," etc.).
The festival excites movie fans by screening films that have not been released in Japan for a long time, and by being the first to spotlight and introduce new talent such as David Robert Mitchell (It Follows, Under the Silver Lake).

What is Omnes Films?
Founded by students studying at Emerson College, the Los Angeles-based filmmaker collective began collaborating in Los Angeles after graduation, and has produced everything from short films and music videos to full-scale, low-budget feature films. Rather than a formal corporate organization, the collective functions as a loose community of close friends who spontaneously collaborate. The collective's distinctive style involves members taking on roles in each other's projects, such as cinematography, screenwriting, editing, and music supervision. The collective's stated mission statement is as follows:
"Filling a gap in contemporary cinema"
"It's important to create passionate and ambitious works together as friends."
"Emphasizing atmosphere over plot, it attempts to capture the various facets of 21st century cultural disintegration."
"We will pursue unprecedented newness without being bound by subject matter or genre."
On Tuesday, November 18th, the popular TBS Radio program "After 6 Junction 2" featured the latest culture introduction corner "Beyond the Culture" in a special feature on "Omnes Films, the popular film production group in LA, by Gucci's Free School."
