Cross Hotel Sapporo x Kinomad Cross Cinema Discovery vol.14 "Billy Elliot" Screening with special event dinner plate and one drink

The 14th installment of our popular project! We are holding Cinema Discovery vol.14, where you can enjoy movies selected by Kinomado and food prepared by the hotel chef.
The film to be screened is "Billy Elliot," which was released in the UK in September 2000.

This moving film has received high praise at film festivals around the world, including being nominated for the 73rd Academy Awards, winning the Japan Academy Prize, and being selected as the closing film at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival, and has been a huge hit, grossing over $100 million worldwide.

Set in a mining town, the film depicts the growth of Billy, a boy who is passionate about his dream of becoming a ballet dancer, despite facing prejudice and harsh realities.

The film is directed by Stephen Daldry, who makes his feature film debut with this one.

He has worked on such masterpieces as "The Reader" and "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," and three of his films were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director.
The main character, Billy, is played by Jamie Bell, who was 13 years old at the time and was chosen from over 2,000 candidates.
The story is vividly colored with powerful, soulful dance scenes and classic 70s rock tunes.
Billy's dream eventually turns into a bigger dream for his family. This coming-of-age drama will warm your heart with Billy's passion and love for his family, and is a must-watch for anyone with a dream.
