EVENT
Igarashi Takenobu Art Poster Exhibition
Date and Time
2026/1/20~3/10
Takenobu Igarashi, a designer and sculptor from Takikawa City, Hokkaido, who is highly acclaimed both domestically and internationally, has created numerous works deeply etched into public spaces and urban landscapes, including 'The Great Star Clock' on the facade of the JR Tower South Entrance building at Sapporo Station, the design of the JR Tower logo mark, and the wall relief 'Mountain River Scenery' in the JR Tower Observation Deck T38.
This exhibition will feature a total of 9 pieces, including 7 early art posters self-produced by Igarashi (from 1975, 1976, and 1985), plus 'New Music Media' (1974) and 'SYLPH' (1981). These series of works, created in the early stages of his career, strongly demonstrate his unique techniques and expressions, and the artist himself referred to them as 'art posters'.
Among them, the 'UFO' series and 'STRUCTURE' series, which utilize axonometric projection, clearly show architectural thinking and formative experiments, suggesting his pursuit of innovation in design and art. The public display of these original works is a very rare opportunity. The exhibition period will be 50 days, named after Mr. Igarashi's name, and during this period, it will mark the first anniversary of Mr. Igarashi's passing on February 12, 2025.
