Overview
My first encounter with Kozue-san of atelier Re-tour, also known as "Arifureta Nichijou no Keshiki," was 16 years ago in 2010. It was at the opening party of a group exhibition held at GALLERY Tokyo Bamboo in Roppongi. It all started when Tsubutsubu Kenkyujyo (Minako Hayashi), who was participating in the exhibition, offered a drink to Kozue-san who had arrived late. We, who had strangely synchronized in many ways since we met, ended up moving from Tokyo to Hokkaido at coincidentally close times a few years later. Kozue-san lives in Asahikawa and I in Sapporo, so we live apart, but I feel a deep connection in our bond that remains unchanged from our time in Tokyo.
In this two-person exhibition, we will each express the landscapes of the heart that we have found in our daily lives. Even if the scenery we each see is different, the landscapes flowing deep within our hearts are freely connected somewhere.
Gallery Inukai is a wonderful space full of character, built in the Meiji era. At the cafe on the first floor, you can also enjoy meals and desserts. In this beautiful season of fresh greenery, we sincerely look forward to your visit.
