■Masayuki Hayashi: Tree guidebook author. He has authored many guidebooks on trees from all over Japan, including 'Identifying Trees by Their Leaves (Shogakukan)'. He is also active in giving lectures and holding observation tours. He travels to see nature and environmental issues both in Japan and abroad, and also addresses recent problems concerning bears and deer.
