Hokkaido University

Our motto is "Boys, be ambitious!" A campus filled with ambition, history, and nature.

The school opened in 1876 (Meiji 9) as Sapporo Agricultural College. The retro school building, which exudes a long history, stands amongst a grove of elm and ginkgo trees, attracting many tourists. We recommend picking up a campus map at the Elm Forest information center to the left of the main gate and enjoying a stroll. The spacious campus is so spacious you won't get bored even if you spend the whole day there. The General Museum is not to be missed. Admission is free and you can see exhibits of scientific specimens, including the skeletons of Nipponosaurus (Japanese dinosaur), Desmostylus, and cow skeletons.
