Hokkaido University
The motto is Boys, be ambitious! The campus is full of ambition, history, and nature.
The university opened in 1876 as Sapporo Agricultural College. The retro school buildings, which evoke a long history, stand amidst groves of elm and ginkgo trees, attracting many tourists. It is recommended to get a map of the campus at the "Elm Forest" information center to the left of the main gate and enjoy a walk around the campus. You can spend a whole day in the spacious campus and never get bored. The General Museum is not to be missed. Admission is free, and you can see exhibits of scientific specimens such as a Nipponosaurus (Japanese dragon), a Desmostylus skeleton, and a cow skeleton.
