Sapporo Fureai Forest
Overview
The Shirohata Mountain Urban Environmental Forest stretches at the foot of 321.5-meter-high Mount Shirohata. Shirahata at an elevation of 321.5 meters. 120 hectares of the forest is designated as the Sapporo Fureai-no-Mori, a place of recreation and relaxation for the citizens of Sapporo. A walking trail has been built through the forest of Mizunara oak and Japanese white birch, and visitors can observe the differences in vegetation as the environment changes, such as streams and wetlands. Mt. Shirahata is known as a treasure trove of plants, including Japanese nipplefruit, Siberian lily, Siberian lily of the valley, and cranesbill hydrangea. There are four courses in the park, some of which can be completed while solving a quiz. There are also facilities for barbecues and crafts, and as the name suggests, it is a place where visitors can enjoy themselves while interacting with nature.

・Take Chuo Bus (87) from Fukuzumi Station on the Toho Subway Line to Fureai no Mori Bus Stop and walk 1 minute. Runs only on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays from April 20 to November 20; runs daily from July 22 to August 23.
