Monument marking the birthplace of Rikuo Honjo
Overview
This monument marks the birthplace of Rikuo Honjo, author of the historical novel "Ishikari River. He was a member of the proletarian literary movement and published many works despite his poverty.
Among his major works, "Ishikari River," was published in 1939, and a sequel was planned, but he died of pulmonary tuberculosis at the young age of 34.
