Proceeding to the back of Shono Sakura Park, you will find an Ezo Yamazakura (Sargent's cherry) tree estimated to be 300 years old. It is said that what were originally two cherry trees supported each other and eventually grew into a single large tree, which is why it is called 'Meoto Zakura' (Couple's Cherry Blossom) and blooms with beautiful flowers every year.
