More than 1,000 Ezo-yamazakura cherry trees line both sides of the road for about 3 km from the entrance of Yushun-no-sato Park. 5 "Silo Observatory (Toyako Town)" to enjoy the magnificent view of Lake Toya and mountains and cherry blossoms
Silo Observatory is located on the western shore of Lake Toya in Hokkaido, at the edge of the land surrounding the lake. It is a sightseeing spot with a panoramic view of Lake Toya, Nakajima, Usuyama, Showa Shinzan, and other mountains. This is the only nationally designated historical site in the city and one of the representative late modern camp sites in Hokkaido. The site, where the Nanbu Domain warriors looked out to sea at the end of the Edo period to guard the east end of Eruption Bay, was designated as a historic site in 1934 and has been preserved for a long time.
