Shiribetsu River Ranran Park
A park where children and adults alike can relax and enjoy themselves on the banks of the Shiribetsu River, which was 16 times voted "Japan's cleanest river."
The 129 km long Shiribetsu River originates in the mountains west of Lake Shikotsu, bypasses the foothills of Mount Yotei and Mount Niseko Annupuri, and flows into the Sea of Japan in Rankoshi Town. It is such a beautiful river that it has been recognized as "Japan's Cleanest River" by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism 16 times in total, for seven consecutive years since 2011.
Surrounded by beautiful nature, Shiribetsu River Ranran Park is an open riverside park. There are vast green spaces and flower beds, and you can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons. In particular, during cherry blossom season, the park is decorated with rows of cherry trees in full bloom. There are benches and plazas, as well as well-maintained walking and jogging paths, so you can enjoy nature as you like while taking in the beautiful scenery.
There are also a variety of recreational facilities. There are plenty of places to enjoy with family and friends, including playgrounds for children, fishing spots, and picnic areas. Events and festivals are held regularly, attracting many people and encouraging local revitalization and interaction. In the summer, you can enjoy fishing for sweetfish, yamabe trout, rainbow trout, and more.
