Shiribetsu River Ranran Park

Originating in the mountains west of Lake Shikotsu, the 129 km long Shiribetsu River bypasses the foothills of Mt. Yotei and Niseko Annupuri before flowing into the Sea of Japan at Rankoshi Town. It is such a beautiful river that it has been recognized as 'Japan's Clearest Stream' by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism a total of 16 times, including 7 consecutive years since 2011.

Shiribetsu River Ranran Park, surrounded by a beautiful natural environment, is an open park on the riverbed. It has vast green spaces and flowerbeds, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery of each season. Especially during the cherry blossom season, rows of fully bloomed cherry trees adorn the park. Within the park, there are benches, open squares, and well-maintained walking paths and jogging courses, where you can enjoy nature as you please while taking in the beautiful views.

Additionally, there are various recreational facilities. There are plenty of places to have fun with family and friends, such as a playground for children, fishing spots, and picnic areas. It is also a spot where events and festivals are held regularly, gathering many people and promoting regional revitalization and interaction. In the summer, you can also enjoy fishing for species such as ayu sweetfish, pale chub, and rainbow trout.
