SPOT
Honganji Ekimae (Post Office)
Honganji Ekimae (Post Office) was built in 1894 and was designated as a post office by the government in 1900.
At that time, it served as an important transportation point for travelers and horses traveling from Sapporo or Asahikawa to Rumoi, and also collected and distributed letters to those who were striving to develop the outback areas. It is one of the few remaining ekimae in Hokkaido and was designated as a cultural property by the Hokkaido government in 1971.
