Japan's largest coral grass colony
In autumn, parts of Lake Notoro are covered in red coral grass, creating a different atmosphere from the autumn leaves. A wooden promenade has been set up in the coral grass colony area of Lake Notoro, allowing you to walk right up to the middle of the coral grass that spreads out all over the place.
The Lake Notoro Coral Grass Festival is held every year in mid-September, when the leaves are at their crimsonest.
