The largest coral reef grass area in Japan
In autumn, a part of Lake Notoriko is covered with red coral grasses, showing a different atmosphere from that of the autumn leaves. A wooden boardwalk has been set up in the coral grass colony of Lake Notoriko, and visitors can walk to the middle of the coral grass that spreads all over the lake.
The "Lake Notoriko Sango Grass Festival" is usually held in mid-September, when the coral grasses are at their most reddish.
