Kikonai Town is located in the southwest part of the historically deep Oshima Peninsula even within Hokkaido, and in the Muromachi period, there was "Nakano-kan," one of the Twelve Castles of Donan, and besides that, Wajin had been settled from ancient times mainly centering on the fishing and forestry industries.
Furthermore, in the distant past, traces of people who were our ancestors living are seen everywhere within the town.
This local history museum exhibits things and records that those people left behind, and by seeing and touching, a wish that it will become an opportunity to think about "now" and "future" is contained.
To re-examine the figures of people who have lived here through the past and culture of the local area that are usually easily forgotten...
That surely will lead to thinking about our "future."
Because... "now" is nothing but the accumulation of the past.
