This Roadside Station, which opened in 2016, is a complex where visitors can enjoy the specialties of Shikabe Town, the charm of its seafood, and its hot springs. It features the 'Geyser Park,' where you can enjoy the powerful geyser and a footbath, and the 'Shikabe Food and Delicacies Hall,' where you can savor the cuisine of Shikabe. Since its opening, many people have visited for leisure and tourism.
At the 'Shikabe Food and Delicacies Hall,' you can taste a selection of rich and delicious local specialties on the spot. There are also a variety of programs where you can experience the historic food culture. You can relax and enjoy the gourmet food of Shikabe.
The 'Geyser Park' features a natural geyser, which is rare in Japan. It erupts to a height of about 15 meters. The temperature of the gushing hot water is 103 degrees. You can witness a breathtaking and miraculous show. On November 1, 2018, the Shikabe Geyser was designated as a Hokkaido Heritage site. Please enjoy this spectacular sight while soothing your travel fatigue in the footbath.
