SPOT
Anoro One Tree
Overview
Sandwiched by the Yubari River and the Anoro River, a large elm tree exceeding 300 years of age stands in the Anoro (Anoro) Wilderness, which was formerly a habitually flood-damaged area. It is told that a person swept away in the great flood of 1898 clung to the tree and was saved. On blizzard days, people came and went using the tree as a landmark, and in summer, they sought coolness in its shade, among other things; it has been cherished since the pioneering days.
